The article that I chose to read was titled Working Parents Don't Have to Give Up on Networking. In the article it states that networking is a hard task for working parents. Working parents struggle to find time to network with others so it goes on the back burner. Although many working parents may believe that there isn't an efficient way to network, there is. Maintaining connections is one of the most important things with networking. Once you make a connection with someone you need to stay in contact with that person and stay updated. Also, another important aspect of networking is to reach out to people. If you want to meet new people you can do it in the comfort of your own home! Video-conferencing is one of the best ways of getting to meet new people without having to leave your home. In addition, you can also introduce people that you have networked with to each other to help benefit each person.
This concept of networking is discussed in the textbook all throughout. Wether you are staring your own business or getting into a line of work you need to know how to network with people. Networking allows for job advancement and growing your business. When you network with people this allows you to expand your knowledge about business and the different kinds of jobs that are out in the workforce. Everything in business is revolved around networking
This concept of networking relates to the topics that we talked about in class in many ways. One of the guest speakers by the name of Rebecca Harris talked about building your connections as early as you can. Without connections you are not going to be able to meet new people and improve your line of work. Ms. Harris said during her lecture that she would not be where she is today without networking. Also, in class Professor Chung always talks about the networking events that are taking place on campus. There are so many opportunities to meet new people and network. I believe that Chatham has so many networking events because they want to help students meet new people and get outside of their comfort zone.
My plans for completing assignments IA02, IA03, IA04, and IA05 are to complete the assignments two days prior to the due date. I believe that having these assignments completed two days prior to the due date will give me time to look over the assignment and make sure I am not missing any information or important points that I was supposed to have. As far as planning goes, I am going to review the assignments early enough so I can get an idea of how I want to complete them. Reviewing the assignments earlier rather than later will give me time to determine how I want to go about completing the assignment and how long it will take.
