The person that I decided to interview for the role model assignment is Caiti Worwood. Caiti is a sophomore at Chatham University and she is majoring in applied data science analytics. Caiti is a member of the softball team and plays any position she is told to play. Her favorite position to play is shortstop or second base. Caiti is also involved in Chatham's student government where she serves as the secretary/treasurer. Caiti is a cougar peer leader and also serves as the chair for the diversity and inclusion committee. Some of Caiti's interests and hobbies are coaching her 14U softball team back home in Idaho, reading, and exploring the outdoors.

Two pieces of advice for good studying strategies that Caiti gave to me were to teach the subject/topic to someone else that is in your class so you know if you are missing any important information or points. The other piece of advice was to look over sample exams if they are provided for you. Looking over sample exams helps you get a better idea of what could possibly be on the upcoming exam and what things you should study more closely.

Two pieces of advice for improving my resume/building my portfolio was to get a job on campus that relates to the line of work that I want to to one day. Getting a job that relates to the kind of work that I want to do one day looks great to future employers and internship opportunities. The other piece of advice that she gave me was to get involved in the Chatham community. Getting involved in the Chatham community is a great way to meet new people and be presented with new opportunities. This can consist of joining new clubs, being apart of a sports team, or going to different events that Chatham hosts.

The article that I read on Chatham Business Insight was called MAcc Student Spotlight: Rachel Kolar.  In the article it talked about how Rachel is in the integrated degree program to complete her masters degree in accounting in five years.  Rachel recently completed her undergraduate degree in April, 2018 and will be done with her master’s degree in April, 2019. Also in the article it stated that Rachel chose to major in accounting because she always loved being organized and she's the positive job market in the accounting field.  Rachel is currently the president of the accounting club and a member of the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society for business students. Rachel has also completed numerous internships in the accounting field such as Medexpress, Volunteer Income Tax Assistant, PITTOHIO, and her favorite was at Schneider Downs. In addition, Financial Executives Institute also known as FEI, announced its Kuldeep Shastri Scholarship and Rachel was one of the students to receive this award. Rachel will be preparing for the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam and can definitely see herself working in a tax department at a CPA firm.

There are many similarities between my role model and the article I read. Caiti said that I should be involved in the Chatham community and Rachel is the president of the accounting club, a member of the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society for business students, and during her undergrad years she was apart of the women's volleyball team at Chatham. I can see that being apart of the Chatham community helps build your resume and broaden your horizons. A difference that I noticed between my role model and the article that I read was that the article talked about internships and scholarships that Rachel had received and done and Caiti talked more about getting a  job on campus and building up your resume for potential jobs/internships.

In class we talk a lot about networking and getting involved on campus. I can see that getting involved on campus helps build your resume and improve your human capital. I went to a women's business leadership breakfast last month and it was a great experience. Not only was it related to my major but it was very interesting to hear someone speak about their own life in business and how there overcome obstacles and challenges.
